It is PSU so have all the required rules and regulations in place. So it is good working on thier ships so that you dont end up in problem in Indian/Forgein ports.

Dislikes

The salary is taxable as you never become NRI in a financial year. Myself being on contract, I am on lower priority for getting a ship than the company's regular employees.

Being a PSU, Job guarantee is there. Compensation is assured. salary comes in time.

Being a PSU, Worker union and shore staff un-cooperation makes difficult during working field on board.Growth is slow. No job training . Seniors completely depend on junior officer at office.

This would be the number one worst company to opt for..u don't get treated gud and no proper facilities provided and alsothey pay u the least for what u expect..do not join Sci

The worst thing is the staff at office.all the old people are sitting there doing nothing and getting paid....day by day they keep u waiting and the whole system is outdated...they call u to office even for small thing rather than doing it online...they don't follow new systems or easy methods

...career growth prospective is much higher than other companies in the same field. Salary as compared to Indian companies is at par with the others but if compared to foreign companies is much lesser than what u can get in out of India based employers in the same field.

Dislikes

Salary is much lesser than that provided by the foreign shipping companies.
