For engineering departments, the managers lack basic technical knowledge which makes it difficult to make them understand things or deter them from making certain decisions. Management wise there are decisions taken suddenly for products which then leads to unachievable timelines for development.

Based on one particular manager (A.S.), the promotion is given based on his referrals, community, and only to his friends who have worked with him in past organisation. Out of 15 employees, 13 are his referrals. Talent, honesty, skills, experience, merits is not at all considered. Only referral is top most consideration.

Love the culture here. Company works on cutting edge tech and in aws. You are free to have ownership and innovate. HRs are really supportive and nice. They value employees, and sequoia always focuses on delivering the best, be it culture or it's product. Negative reviews are from haters.
