No Salary Discussion in My Appraisal — What’s Your Experience?

In my appraisal meeting, they didn’t ask or discuss my expectations about my salary or hike percentage. The entire discussion was only about feedback and performance review. After the meeting, I asked why they didn’t allow me to share my expectations or reveal my hike numbers. They told me that the hike numbers would be decided only by the owner and then they would inform me. I feel an appraisal meeting should include open discussion about both performance and future expectations. What are your thoughts? Does this happen in your company too?

It's a place where you can learn , grow , feel valued and truly enjoy the journey. The company culture is positive, inclusive and respectful. One of the biggest plus point is work life balance- while working hours are fixed, they're respected. After 5:30pm and on Saturdays and Sundays there are no work related calls or messages, which gives us space for family/personal time. Everyday brings something new to learn and the company also supports upskilling through courses. The Leadership team is approachable and the employees are heard both professionally personally. Teamwork, collaboration and growth mindset are genuinely encouraged here. Over all its a great place to work.
