No Salary Discussion in My Appraisal — What’s Your Experience?
In my appraisal meeting, they didn’t ask or discuss my expectations about my salary or hike percentage. The entire discussion was only about feedback and performance review. After the meeting, I asked why they didn’t allow me to share my expectations or reveal my hike numbers. They told me that the hike numbers would be decided only by the owner and then they would inform me. I feel an appraisal meeting should include open discussion about both performance and future expectations. What are your thoughts? Does this happen in your company too?

I was in the intelligence and insights team which is their competitive intelligence team. The amount of exposure I have got at Prescient is immense! I really miss working the way we used to do their. The learning potential on the job is top notch because you get to work on multiple set of projects irrespective of the role/level you are at while at other companies the roles are defined level wise. The fact that in the I&I team they have medical conference coverage as one of the KPIs for which they would send the employees to US and Europe. This remains highlight of the role.

...like yet I believe it is okay to grind a little with the exposure that is given. Secondly, they have a pay scale little lower than other companies in the business.

Don’t go for on-site interview, they will call for second round & the interviewer will take your interview remotely instead in person. Then hr will give you the tour of the office for promotion.

The environment is terrible, and highly political, there is zero professionalism in the company, a technical person can not grow their future here, people are not open to new technologies here, there is much more interruption of non technical people in the technical decisions, that is why the environment is poor here.
