No Salary Discussion in My Appraisal — What’s Your Experience?
In my appraisal meeting, they didn’t ask or discuss my expectations about my salary or hike percentage. The entire discussion was only about feedback and performance review. After the meeting, I asked why they didn’t allow me to share my expectations or reveal my hike numbers. They told me that the hike numbers would be decided only by the owner and then they would inform me. I feel an appraisal meeting should include open discussion about both performance and future expectations. What are your thoughts? Does this happen in your company too?

Structure of the organisation is not so employee friendly. Almost everything is governed by HQ (OPPO China Office). And it seems India management tries to negotiate with HQ quite often but they fails almost every time (or they just shows that they are trying). Which overall makes the company policies poor for employees as well as makes management weak if not poor.

...taining the code, not on any feature/core development because there are none. Initial salary + bonuses offered are good, but expect increment to be low. A lot of politics comes into play while work and bonus distributions so if you're good with politics, good for you. But if you're not, someone else is for sure will eat your piece of pie. About work-life balance and learning, as said most of the work is code maintenance so you will need to compromise (strongly) on both. Also other perks are very less compared to competitive organisations.

Dislikes

There is a lot of politics management doesn't address our issues, salary is good but hike and bonus was very unfair and slow. The big faced that new employee getting more preference than old employees also they ignored by management even they give more time and surve from the starting the company.

Salary on time, free transportation, free food & overtime

Dislikes

Management is very bad. Rules are very bad. No promotion here. All 10th, 12th , ITI, diploma even B. tech level employees putted in same category. How a ITI employee can be senior to a B. tech employee, most employee have ITI qualification who is in senior post, mostly employee don't have degree, mostly employee have fake diploma and degree. only those employee get promote either they have less qualification or they are close to a senior person.

Salary is good, Incentives is the only part of earning Self learning Basic Core marketing & sales work, it's good company for freshers to learn & work but not more than 2 years.

Low variables, company payroll is third party so have much more issues while taking loans. No motivation for employees.
