No Salary Discussion in My Appraisal — What’s Your Experience?
In my appraisal meeting, they didn’t ask or discuss my expectations about my salary or hike percentage. The entire discussion was only about feedback and performance review. After the meeting, I asked why they didn’t allow me to share my expectations or reveal my hike numbers. They told me that the hike numbers would be decided only by the owner and then they would inform me. I feel an appraisal meeting should include open discussion about both performance and future expectations. What are your thoughts? Does this happen in your company too?

Dislikes

Toxic work culture. No over time gives. No leaves. Even weekend also work in office. Managers purposefully taget increasing on weekends and festival time secially holiday time declaring as critical business day. Means must come to office work with overtime.

No likes as such.. The so called legal head didn’t had a Law Degree.. Failed Army guy was interested in politics rather than focus on work. Too much interference in your private life as well by him.

Politics and pay structure. The legal head was more interested in setting up the salaries of advocates rather than HR. High Talker guy. They are looking for pleasers instead of an employees. Don’t know how to please? Don’t apply!!

...nst WFH; they want to see people sitting in office irrespective of everything 2. Org doesn't believe in Pay correction; once you are in, there is no correction. You can expect 10-15% appraisals. Pay parity is a big issue. You may find people making 2x of your pay at the same level 3. Org has a comparatively weak mid-management layer, lacks clarity of thought, and lacks work ethics. You won't find a mentor in them 4. You have to pick up work and do (if you want to learn) - not really a bad thing though

... matter how good you perform, they will say that was because of others support. Salary hike is not good. Because the people who used to work there as a pilote back is paid less but the people they hire are paid more don't know what they think while appraisal. If you take leave any emergency leave they create a big issue not keeping in the mind the situation of the person sitting in front of them. They mentally pressurize you so much that you yourself will put the papers. Everything was good in starting but as soon as they hired to people in collections everything just went in a pathetic condition....People there keep grudges in their mind and work accordingly... There is still much more to say.....
