No Salary Discussion in My Appraisal — What’s Your Experience?

In my appraisal meeting, they didn’t ask or discuss my expectations about my salary or hike percentage. The entire discussion was only about feedback and performance review. After the meeting, I asked why they didn’t allow me to share my expectations or reveal my hike numbers. They told me that the hike numbers would be decided only by the owner and then they would inform me. I feel an appraisal meeting should include open discussion about both performance and future expectations. What are your thoughts? Does this happen in your company too?

Th work culture is by far one of the best. I do not have a lot of experience working yet as it is my first job but I know that it is so positive by comparing anyone else's experiences. The positivity and support created by Nikit, Kunal and the whole team helps me be the most creative I can be. There is so much freedom to explore our ideas. I am sure that this will be the best workplace I have ever been in or ever will be.

Not exactly dislike, and I do believe that we are getting there, but a better salary package. It is already a lot for a beginner. And we have great benefits and bonuses set up. I believe that this will increase overtime so great overall.

The work environment in general has been quite different from my previous experience. The communication and connectivity with the whole department has a much more emotional satisfaction and a safe space where I can truly open up my creativity and thoughts.
