No Salary Discussion in My Appraisal — What’s Your Experience?

In my appraisal meeting, they didn’t ask or discuss my expectations about my salary or hike percentage. The entire discussion was only about feedback and performance review. After the meeting, I asked why they didn’t allow me to share my expectations or reveal my hike numbers. They told me that the hike numbers would be decided only by the owner and then they would inform me. I feel an appraisal meeting should include open discussion about both performance and future expectations. What are your thoughts? Does this happen in your company too?

I worked at National electric Corporation, CORPOELEC-EDELCA, now I am retaired. I liked working on EDELCA, because he has gained much experience in the operation and maintenance of hidroelectric plants and dams contruction projects. and journeyed to tests in factories of the electromechanical equipment to be installede in our dams.

Edelca was a company responsible for building, then operate and maintain four dams, located on the Caroni river, to the south of Venezuela. Macagua (3.000 MW), Caruachi (2.100 MW) and Guri (10.000 MW) all commercial operation. Tocoma in construction (2.100 MW). When it unified with the other electric companies in Venezuela to create CORPOELEC, from that moment he began to reduce manintainability and the detrioration of the electrical system.
