Quite a bad experience working here. Salary is not stable. The management has a lot of issues with giving the salary on time or giving the salary at all. Non clinical people in the administration and don't understand the plight of the clinical faculties. Evidence based medicine is difficult to practice here given everyone here follows level 5 (expert opinion) care. Laparoscopic and in general, theatre instruments are sub-par without quality energy devices.

Likes

Nothing is engaging about the work at this place. It’s a pit of despair for young able surgeons. Only those who don’t want to work and want to while away their time under a HOD who’s a fossil should join this place

Dislikes

There’s no learning in this place. No evidence based medicine can be practiced here due to the draconian head of the department who doesn’t care about bringing up the surgery department here

Education wise, the professors are very well knowledgeable and importance is put on clinical practice and theoretical knowledge which is a good thing

Dislikes

clinical exposure is been given very late. No one to give a proper guide on how to examine in a patterned manner. For eg. clinical postings start in the second year of mbbs. During postings, we have to join along with the senior semester for the first one hour or last one hour. In that time, they usually focus on the senior semester batch and hence it becomes very difficult for us to cope up.Secondly, if there are not senior semester batch joining, the teaching faculty usually tells that in this semester history taking basics will be taken. and this continues till we reach almost our 8th semester. so we hardly get to see cases or examine cases. and by the time we come to our final year all we know is history taking.
