Though Hectic for 1st year resident, but one can learn a lot. Different varieties of patient, a lot of exposure both in emergency, opd, ipd. Good faculty.But in Mamc, u have to learn by yourself, no one will teach you.There is no spoon feeding, but when there is problem regarding patient management in taking decissions , consultants are there to help u out. Most of the investigations r available , one which are not available can be done from Aiims or outside.( though rewuired less).

Dislikes

In the 1st year of my residency, initially i dislike the working hours. U have to be in the ward or emergency or Opd ( whichever duty u have) minimum 16 hours a day. But gradually it gets habituated to being with the patient.U became like a family member of the patient, u know everything about your patient.( thats cool) The other part is not all patients and their family members r good to the doctor. U have to be aware all thr time, have to protect yourself from the agitated attendants and they can even beat u up.
