The experience where the staff placed is good. Interacting with juveniles is very challenging and interesting

... really care. No job security, no appraisal and no capacity building whatsoever. The staff doesn't receive their salary on time. The staff works for two months and receives salary at the end of the second month. Sometimes, there was even a three month delay. Moreover, the staff has to literally beg for their own hard earned money. The team at the head office has a weird sense of superiority and show favouritism towards their staff at Normal Chayya.

I get to collaborate with mental health care professionals, work with WCD for the welfare of women and children, and raise awareness about mental health.

Dislikes

Delayed salary, no job security, inadequate remuneration, no promotions

Likes

Healthy working environment, learning apportunity by team building meeting in every week, nice working culture and suitable for female candidates.

Dislikes

Some time increase working hours due to field activities but no bonus process.

The exposure is good and the team is young and vibrant.

Dislikes

The senior management is pathetic. They like to show themselves as empathetic people but they arent. There is constant criticism and no recognition. And the organisation policy isnt the same for everyone. (Personal Favorites will have it easy). A lot of anxiety is induced by the senior management and you would be blamed for things that went wrong from their end. During my stay here, I had a lovely time working with the team but management and their favourites made it absolutely difficult.

Likes

Being an NGO and that too in the field of mental health the team and the management are aware of issues faced by teams and are adequately qualified to handle them well. Unlike a typical corporate company they are not running after money but the mission and vision is to give assistance in the area of mental health and gender sensitization. So the team is young and very dynamic its a great learning experience

Dislikes

Dealing in the field of mental health one tends to listen to peoples problems and hear peoples trauma. Im not part of the counselling team and only handle design, but it is disturbing to hear so much pain and sorrow
