The day I found out my colleague earns 30% more for the same role
It was an accidental slip. A teammate mentioned her CTC while we were chatting casually. Same designation, same team, joined after me but her salary was almost 30% more. My stomach dropped. I spent days debating whether to bring it up. I didn’t want to come off as insecure or difficult. But I also couldn’t un-know what I knew. Eventually, I had an honest, data-backed conversation with my manager. Turns out, I was right and they revised my pay. It wasn’t easy, but it taught me this: silence doesn’t protect you. Companies run on numbers. If you don’t negotiate, you leave money on the table. Have you ever been in a similar spot? How did you navigate it?

Engineering culture and projects are good as one of the cofounders, the CTO, is very knowledgeable and is supported by two very good VPs of Engineering.

...lly the CFO are worst. The cfo doesn’t have badic etiquettes and is openly rude. Most of his sentences will be like “do this today anyhow”, “i will cut your bonus if its not done”.The policies are completely baseless and can change any moment. At a townhall, they suddenly went from remote to full 5 day in office, even in night shifts. A senior member objected, but the CEO just laughed and said “Thanks for your input”. Their product is 3rd grade and lots of clients churn, but the ceo keeps boasting that “we will change the the world”.

...ffers guidance on how to perform them, which can help save the company 😅 money. If you are skilled in coding, you can negotiate for a good package and you will have helpful colleagues who are ready to assist you most of the time.

If you are a fresher in design, organizations will often give you the opportunity to learn on live projects with guidance from experienced managers and colleagues. However, as a senior or experienced designer, there may be no clear path to advancement or recognition, which can make you think twice about your career choices.

It was good at one time.

Dislikes

The HR team is extremely poor and don't know how to communicate. They sell a employee experience platform but have failed miserably having good employee experience. Some very poor professionalism at this org. They have hired many managers and VPs but the performance remains the same for the team. Nothing has changed.

1. They don't value your efforts 2. All Cofounders are really rude including CEO. In one townhall, they completely shifted hybrid culture to 5 days work from office, and when someone raised valid concerns, he told thanks for your input rudely. It was like it is my company I can do anything. 3. Policies can change like anytime. They do policy change for 2024 in 2025 like literally. They changed their 30 days carry forward leave policy to limit to only 7 days and even who carry forward it from 2024 it is waste, and they are telling this in 2025. 4. There main business goal is to make products for employees, they don't use it itself, neither they value their own employees. 5. No matter you are dying, work is more important to be delivered that too which is not being reviewed until next month. 6. Their HRs are not really HRs, they have no ears to hear anything about the company, you can't raise a question to their bad decisions, either you work as slave or leave. 7. No value to the hardwork of employees, just make policies to disrupt their focus. 8. If you are tagging a HR, don't expect a reply from them.
