I really like to work at John Deere.I have been working in Deere since last two years but I am still learning.Senior members are always supportive and they always welcome the suggestion.

Dislikes

I don't really see the down side but I see there is some room to improve on pay scale.

1. Awesome work culture 2. Great Managers 3. Best on work life balance 4. No Micro Management in work

Dislikes

1. Delay in promotions 2. Company will take people at higher package from outside but not give hike to people already in team 3. Even contracts earns more the its employees in some cases

Likes

Good salary compared to other core companies for traditional departments. Global exposure. Usually supportive management in terms of learning/upskilling. Can choose your career interests. Lot of opportunities to learn and implement your ideas.

Dislikes

Compensations years behind for advanced departments. People skills >>>> technical skills in eyes of management. You can get ahead with mediocre technical skills but not with people skills. Emphasis on 'people activities'. Almost 30% of your time is spent on repetitive updates to management, arbitrary metrics calculation, presentations and video editing. Many Yes Men and Women. Compulsory participation in 'fun activities'.

Work life balance Learning, As we have access to acloudguru, plularsight and other sites as well.

Talking as a C++/ QT resource 1: To create visibility, you need to do a lot more than just your regular work. Like Contributing in different initiatives, Participating in Hackathons like events 2: Only 1 or 2 QT resource in a team compared to 10 controller side resources. Hence, QT resource is most of the time overloaded with work. 3: Some internal politics related to work assignment
