...es as early as your first year of MD. Lot to learn from colleagues and seniors. Salary was also great. Even Pg students are given the option of HRA. Easy to get leaves for conferences. Even the EL can be encashed. Faculty is highly trained and very supportive.

Work pressure is more and lot of skills are needed to be learnt in a short span of three years. Have to do night duties as well unlike physiology or anatomy. Did not get study leave before final exams and had to do night duties even then.

Good Experience at overall atmosphere where compared to private sector

Dislikes

Compensation is decent, but growth is slow. The work pressure depends on work allocated by unexpected zone. I do receive appreciation to my immediate higher authority, but they mostly go unnoticed communication due to lack of time. Also, there is no time to sort out the capacity of person, hence senior folks like me have to guide them step by step, which is a pain sometimes.

Exposure to many procedures during internship that even Junior residents in other colleges don't get to do

Very toxic work culture, 36 hour hectic duty days weekly, and in orthopaedic posting 36 hour duty days are once every 2 weeks, and sometimes thrice a week
