No Salary Discussion in My Appraisal — What’s Your Experience?
In my appraisal meeting, they didn’t ask or discuss my expectations about my salary or hike percentage. The entire discussion was only about feedback and performance review. After the meeting, I asked why they didn’t allow me to share my expectations or reveal my hike numbers. They told me that the hike numbers would be decided only by the owner and then they would inform me. I feel an appraisal meeting should include open discussion about both performance and future expectations. What are your thoughts? Does this happen in your company too?

Eventhough it isn't a big company, it is never behind in terms of learning, providing chances and understanding the employees. The founder, who also acts as the supervisor ensures that the employees learn new things and streamline the process. Step by step exposure to new tasks, assurance of our understanding and clarification of our doubts without making the employees exhasted is one of the things that I really liked about the company. They ask for our feedbacks continously and are open to any suggestions that we may put forward. Moreover they consider that there are limitation to human body and mind and let us work in peace,take a leave when we don't feel like it, unlike many posts that we come across in social media about the job.

Dislikes

At times the reply to our doubts can be delayed, but I think if it is an urgent one then it can resolved.
