Lots of things to learn about gas turbine engine, small turbofan engine. Many software to exposure like ANSYS, HYPERMESH,LS DYNA,ABAQUS,STAR CCM,NX,AUTOCAD and many other software.

Dislikes

Stipend amount is less.

Its a defence based organisation come under DRDO. We can learn more skills from there. Scientists are also friendly and we can interact them without fear.A perfect place to learn practical knowledge.

Dislikes

Stipend is only 9k per month.We cant live with that in bengaluru..Job is not permanent.

Good work environment and culture. Teammates are good & they support every time. Like other research centre this lab of DRDO is best for specifically aero students, & this is only lab in India where you can touch & see the real gas turbine engine testing parameters, assemble of engine. In GTRE lots of project is running here. Here all scientist is very friendly, they will help you to clear your doubts anytime, even when office will not opened..

Funds are not coming on time, due to this projects will delayed..

I have been working here since November 2018 and I am already confident about my skills and knowledge about Engine assemblies and its Standard of Preparation (SOP) Drafting. It is good platform to learn and develop you skills in propulsion. But, be prepared to do everything from taking a xerox to assembling the engine. Thank you.

Only thing I didn't like was you don't get exposure of other sections of GTRE as you are contained and busy in one particular section.

Likes

GTRE allows employees to work without overly supervising, as long as work is delivered on time. The work place is comfortable and resources are also good. The organisation is quite good for freshers who have newly graduated.

Dislikes

Data input required to be provided by employer is not available entirely and will need to be verified frequently with them. The is no career improvement in this industry and salaries are rarely raised. Job security is very poor.
