Previously this department is a branch of Himachal P.W.D. In the year 1994 the department is bifurcated and separate H.P. Irrigation and Public Health Department is formed and worked in the department till April 2013 in various capacities from Assistant Engineer to Superintending Engineer. In Himachal Pradesh every village has provided with safe and potable water in the year 2006,which was challenging task in hilly and part of which is snow bound also. The department also look after the work of irrigation and flood protection work-and sewerage system in urban area. I am proud to be a part of Highly professional team of Engineers.

Dislikes

There were no fixed working hours at least for technical persons, sometime we used to work round the clock in case of any breakdown of the schemes. Some time political interference in working made the working uncomfortable .

Likes

Since it is a govt deptt that deals with water supply to both urban and rural aras , Sewerage, minor medium and major irrigation, flood management and Tubewells etc. Its a wonderful experience to work in such a prestigious deptt.
