The upper level management is working hard to make a transition from teaching based to research based university. You will feel like working in a govt.sector as far as job security is concerned.

Dislikes

Lack of resources and clarity to do experimental research. Disparity in salary and appraisal is a major concern which creates frustration among many faculties. GITAM could easily implement govt. like salary structure. This would substantially reduce the grievance among the staff. You have a lot of talented employees who are ready to dive for innovation but unfortunately many of them are underpaid despite having PhDs and post doc from premier institutes across the globe.

Friendly and helpful colleagues. Quite relaxed in terms of leaves

Dislikes

...nter, and holidays falling on weekdays would have to be compensated on weekends. If you're even 5 minutes late, it is calculated as Loss of Pay because of the biometric system. You get absolutely no time for your own research or writing. And you don't always teach in your area of expertise. The commute takes very long and there is no AC in the buses. The students are unruly and do not do any work or attend classes, but expect to pass with good grades.

Left excellent and renowned organizations like Air India expecting a long journey with GITAM. But, GITAM has closed the Dept and thrown out 30+ employees from all over 3 campuses without any intimation.

Firing can be happen at any point in the academic year. If the boss cant prove that he is efficient then whole team will be fired. They call the most important training department as cost centric....

Got a very good scope here and it has a very good scope in respect to Future Perspective. Director and Assistant Director are very supportive and they are guiding me out to extent as I was almost new to this field.

Dislikes

Won't really say it to be disliked, but would like to say that if the salary would been a bit better. Cause it's a bit less compared to Bangalore Demographics. But teaching staff are getting paid as per UGC norms as NET/Phd is mandatory here, so would be better if the university can initiate something for non teaching staff too in this proforma.
