Good learning possibility since you interact directly with the senior leadership. However, whether it's a positive or a negative, mostly depends on your manager or super manager, and mostly, it's the latter here :)

Poor appraisals and compensation. Poor treatment of employees. Work is not valued. 90% of the work goes waste as nobody sees it or even recognises the efforts. Terrible leadership.

Being backed by axis bank I don't worry of getting salary at the end of month. There is a sense of job safety unlike other loss making startups

Culture is degrading day by day, it is becoming just like bank, focus is being moved from tech to saving money being spent on good tech resources.

The only way to get a deserving compensation is to switch. Freecharge will not be able to give you a raise that you deserve. Getting a maximum CTC out of Freecharge while joining is the key. Senior Leadership/Management doesn't know what works and what doesn't in the market. They have really empty future plans and visions, sugarcoated with fancy English words. Tech leadership, specially technical directors are plagued with a rigid 'unconscious bias' towards some of the developers, which renders them incompetent for any managerial positions let alone the directorial posts they currently hold. Axis bank bought Freecharge to exploit it's larger monthly active user-base so that it could claim more than double the users it previously had. There is absolutely no special benefit for Freecharge and it's employees being a subsidiary of Axis bank.

Very less salary than market( TCS, infosys type salary) Toxic culture No promotions at junior levels Very less hikes(3-5%) Very bad salary break up aswell, 60% of hike will be added in gratuity so effective hike after year will be somewhere around 1% Best place to join if you are a housewife (don't want to travel) or anyone who doesn't have much ambitions
