No Salary Discussion in My Appraisal — What’s Your Experience?
In my appraisal meeting, they didn’t ask or discuss my expectations about my salary or hike percentage. The entire discussion was only about feedback and performance review. After the meeting, I asked why they didn’t allow me to share my expectations or reveal my hike numbers. They told me that the hike numbers would be decided only by the owner and then they would inform me. I feel an appraisal meeting should include open discussion about both performance and future expectations. What are your thoughts? Does this happen in your company too?

Yearly Salary hike is too low 3 to 7%. BPO type work culture Promotions are too delayed(After 3 to 5 years)... 3 Month NON NEGOTIABLE Notice period makes it difficult to exit and find new job. Too much excel reports and repetative work makes you feel like Clerk. Paid transport.No free canteen facilities. Flex is BIG NO for engineers...

About flex at initial years from 2015 to 2020 everything was great including Management, salary, Work life balance, increments etc lots of learning full of life

After 2021 , flex completely changed keeping apart salary portion as this depends on marker conditions. Management was replaced and never got a feel of pvt company. No role defined with authority , micromanagement , TL, AM , OM, SM - all work same . Learning is lot but expectations 0%. Management was only English how best English they speak rest learning 5%.

Recently there were no much hike in Salary and Promotions also become far from reachable. Even though hybrid work model now a days they are very much strict and making everyone to come to office for atleast 10 days
