The organization has helped me grow and recognize my areas of strength in the last two years that I worked here. I have been a part of a really encouraging team not only in the programs that I was a part of but also the entire city team. I was able to explore my style and my interests in teaching autonomously but was also given support wherever I needed it. I was working under two programs and thus under two program managers both who really made sure to check in on how I was doing both professionally and personally in my physical and mental health. AT the same time I learnt many new things that I could take to class through the trainings. When I was applying for a job, the team also helped me through the application process by giving me tips on how to approach the entire process. They have been a constant support at work and other aspects of my life to.

Dislikes

The only downside I observe is the low accessibility on getting hired as a full time employee. I wanted to be a full time Teaching Artist for EL but that opportunity never really came around during the time that I did work here.

Likes

The kind of work we did, no matter how tough it was, was always well appreciated and brought a lot of personal joy to me at the end of each day no matter how stressful it was. People were always around to help and talk through tough times

Dislikes

The leadership was not good enough, in the sense that the ideas that were floated in were mostly ones from people who weren’t in leading positions rather than the actual leaders, tasks were often left incomplete by leaders and the same tasks were talked about over and over again.
