One can gain experience working on the ground with real people and problems. Inter-personal skills and communication skills will become better as one has to talk to people everyday.

Colleagues are great and supportive, but the higher authority does not take any feedback/suggestions. Things work differently on the ground than on paper; they do not understand this at all. Also, they do not provide any training, so basically, you are on your own in and outside the field. And nothing is free. Everything is chargeable, which is difficult for rural people to afford.
