Caritas India is an international Catholic NGO that operates with a charity-based function. The atmosphere is peaceful, the environment is silent, and there is no high work pressure, which allows for a good work-life balance. The organization's culture is grounded in Christian values.

In the technical aspect, there are limited opportunities for skill development, and promotions are infrequent. Additionally, since it is an NGO, salaries depend on donations. If donors withdraw for any reason, there is a risk of job loss.

I am retired from CI on Dec 31st,2019 so there is no point in giving any feed back here. Yet few remarks I would make as follow The retirement age should be 60 as its 58 now. Maximum staffs are from south part of India. There should be a mix of top positions. This is issue is being discussed at all diocese level presently. This is slowly affecting on resource mobilization for Caritas India. Lay persons ( retired from various fields) participation is minimal in CI operations. The present strategy of having volunteers ( specially youth )will not work. We need matured elderly people as volunteers to take CI ahead. Youth not knowing CI much won't be able to generate resources for CI as there contacts with institutions and individual donors are very limited. Employees retiring should be given good farewell so that they will have at least a photograph in house for life long memories for his/her family to remember CI. In respect of Caritas initiative in COVID 19, since Govt and other agencies are providing food support to needy people I suggest Caritas India should help widows and families living below poverty line only. For example, providing C and D vitamin tabs, Masks (3 pcs per person) Sanitizer. soaps, wheat flour, Rice , Oil and Dal etc. 30 days ration should be provided every month.

No joint meetings/ trainings of the dept. are held and hence there are no sharing among staffs and depts. NO Appraisal of the supervisor is done by the employees. Employees should be given chance to appraise their supervisors so that both can understand each other well and discuss problems being faced by them. Normally this should be done during common meetings or some common occasion to avoid travel expenses only for appraisal purpose.
