Salary Expectations
I am a Social Media Specialist with over 4 years of experience and was earning around 4.5 LPA in my previous role. When I joined my current organization, I discovered that my manager, with just 2.5 years of work experience, was earning a compensation of 7.6 -8.2 LPA (approx). This was quite surprising to me, and it made me question the market standards. I am currently looking to switch roles and, based on my research through Glassdoor and other sources, I am expecting a package of 7-8 LPA. However, many HRs I’ve spoken to feel that even 6 LPA is too high. What should be the ideal salary expectation for someone with my experience in the current market?

Likes

Great work to start and learn how the steel industry works. Lots of help from seniors and other sections of the team.

Dislikes

Graduate engineering salary is a bit low around high 60k and low 70k. No real progression after grad and trainee work unless you gel well with seniors.

The people are great to work with but only to an extent, it's best to keep to yourself and not share personal life with anyone.

It's hard because, I just had a review last week but unfortunately being promised a position with engineering and after the review was given the budget talk thereby knowing that if the reviewer brings up this talk you already know the position has been given to someone else and not you. It's best not to have high hopes for career progression...
