The day I found out my colleague earns 30% more for the same role
It was an accidental slip. A teammate mentioned her CTC while we were chatting casually. Same designation, same team, joined after me but her salary was almost 30% more. My stomach dropped. I spent days debating whether to bring it up. I didn’t want to come off as insecure or difficult. But I also couldn’t un-know what I knew. Eventually, I had an honest, data-backed conversation with my manager. Turns out, I was right and they revised my pay. It wasn’t easy, but it taught me this: silence doesn’t protect you. There is absolutely nothing to like about this dogshit company. They will make you work like dogs for absolutely no pay and youll be treated with no respect by a certain manager who i think was dropped in the head as a baby. The team leads and managers only think about themselves and dont really care how youre doing and the only help youll get from them(if you go to them asking for help) are snarky remarks. They say they have flexible working hours and by that they mean they will change the timing as they see fit and will also shift your week off(usually wednesday) to the day that there is a major holiday in other day of the week( you wont ever get two days off in one week no matter how major the holiday is). The timings are 12pm to 10pm but on sundays you need to work 11am to 10 pm for the same pay(nowhere in the offer letter this has been mentioned).
