The students are quiet good, some of the events happen there are good. Overall academic initiatives are also good.

Dislikes

High politics... I didn't got promotion even after performing well, receive awards and participate in almost every activity for straight 3 year. No appreciation at all. Very biased system. And the worst part is instead of teaching students which should be primary focus, they ask to go for event duties every month by sacrificing your Saturday as well as sundays in almost every month.

Nothing except the payment of salary was on time. But, the pay too is not at par with the current scale. They give as per the 6th pay scale. There is a disparity in giving salary scales to people. There is no standard practice.

Almost everything about this institute is poor. There is no infrastructure according to the number of students and staff they are taking in. University may look decent from the outside, but you will always feel a shortage of many things as they have inducted 3-4 times more students and staff than what they can accommodate. They havewasted crores of rupees in digitalizing each and everything but no basic infrastructure for that is set up, so nothing goes on smoothly. It in fact irritated me a lot. I used to call this university a WhatsApp university which runs mainly through Social networking platforms where last-minute decisions were taken frequently. You will never see such a thing in IITs and NITs. There is virtually no academic atmosphere. It is a university where one can virtually buy a degree. If one can afford 25 lakhs, he or she can get the degree with almost no hard work, knowledge, or attendance. I can say with 100% confidence that more than 90% of students of MIT-WPU do not deserve to be an engineer at all. The rest 10% of students may manage to pass. The university focuses on everything except teaching and research. Engineering education is not on their agenda at all. It is a big marketing gimmick. What you will see in ads, will be very-very different in reality. I will not recommend any soul to study and work in this institute. At least no IITian or NITian should ever join this institute as faculty. The management of this university is very poor. It completely lacks the wisdom and will to execute any concrete step for better education. They use spirituality as a marketing tool. Nobody is satisfied working there, and I being an alumnus of the highest premier institute of India, could not work there even for a year. HR of the university is the worst. Never trust their words. They will ruin your career. In fact, if one decides to join MIT-WPU, he or she should be ready to undergo a torturous ordeal almost every day, forgetting about Saturday and Sunday. You will hardly get any peace of mind, any day. You will be kept engaged day and night in non-academic work as nobody wants you to teach the students, and students do not want to learn there as they come with a big fat purse and a much bigger ego than the wallet of their daddy. You will not be given any time, opportunity, or space to do any research work but will always be expected to produce research outputs and publish. The salary increase and promotion depend only on the research profile for which you will never get any student or other help. Many fellow faculties except a few are very self-centered. Very very sub-standard research of almost no value is being done by these people. Very few IITian (newly recruited) are working there but in very suffocating conditions. I am sure they will also leave the organization within a year. This university has no properly crafted curriculum, no well-defined examination pattern and assessment practice, and no quality in anything of any sort. They do have a lot of money which management will not spend on anything useful except marketing or show business. They are running a scam in the university by serving some political agenda in the guise of an engineering institution. My last piece of advice to those who are looking for an academic position in India is as follows. Do not join any private university or college in India. At least avoid universities like MIT-WPU at all costs. Only try for IITs, NITs, or State Government colleges at best. Work for industries instead, if one can not get a better academic position. These private colleges have taken university status to accumulate money and only money. They have no sense of education, they have no intention to impart any either.
