Really good work environment. Management is really supportive of the staff. Compensation is really good for a second tier city. The benefits of being a faculty in KMC Manipal are multiple including the vast library, the workplace ethics, attitude of the hospital staff towards the faculty, etc.

Dislikes

The hospital per se is exceptional but the career growth after 2-3 years is close to none. It is a teaching hospital and we can hone our professional skills here but only upto a limit. Manipal, as a town can take a long time to getting accustomed.

I had a pretty good experience at KMC, interacting with undergraduate as well as postgraduate students. The entire community was warm and welcoming

Highly communal attitude of management- promotions are based on caste (Konkani’s ie GSB’s only) criteria only. There is no recognition of talent, hard work & commitment to institute. Head of Institute has a nasty & retaliatory behaviour towards his subordinates. He is mean & keeps old grudges. Higher management encourages this attitude towards subordinates. Sad state of affairs!
