Nothing much to like in the events business. Also too much work as they are understaffed.

Dislikes

There is a lobby of some senior employees who were part of UBM India earlier. After the acquisition by Informa Markets they retained their roles while those in middle management were laid off citing silly reasons. Don't expect to receive your hard earned bonuses as the HR in India office will try to find excuses to not release it. Don't expect to grow in this organisation as the senior management will not let you thrive....Read More

Got Rejected In an Interview, Just Because I Didn’t Answer a Personal Question

So, I got invited for this interview, and they told me to be there at 9 AM. Of course, I get there early, like 8:30, because I don't want to be late. But then I end up waiting for 1.5 hours. Seriously, they didn't even acknowledge me until 10. Then this HR lady calls me in, and she's totally unprofessional. She's like, on her phone, making personal calls while I'm sitting right there. And then she starts asking me these really weird questions, like what my nickname is, and what my dad does for a living. It got really uncomfortable when she started pressing for details about where my dad works. I mean, what does that have to do with anything? So I politely told her I didn't want to answer, and she actually said, "Then we can't continue this interview." I was honestly shocked. But instead of arguing, I just stood up and said, “Alright then.” And walked out. I left feeling pissed. Not only did they waste an hour of my time, but the HR rep was also rude and unprofessional..
