IIT Delhi being a autonomous institute has its benefits as the holidays align well with any other government organisation. Also, the work culture is very relaxed, including the working style of most professors.

Dislikes

Relaxed work culture leads to delay in projects and red-tapism in too many system inefficiencies. Normally professors look at the lower level employee to blame and don't tend to own the responsibility to ensure smooth functioning. There is professionalism only with their bosses but at the lower level very little ownership and professionalism. No timeline or ownership of the projects. The system has too many flaws and no professor either wants to admit to it or improve upon it. The post-docs are treated badly with no responsibility of the hiring professors. If you are working in a personal lab then it might be a different scenario. IIT Delhi is not an ideal place for research. They are only good on paper but not in reality....Read More

Work Details

I was working as a post-doc. The work given to me was mostly technical. Once, I had to discuss with my professor on the research work but he was only interested in my TA duty. Postdoc & project positions doesn't help to improve your career growth.
