Treatment of dumb animals and helping in mitigating the sufferings of animals as well as poor farmers as farmers especially small and marginal ones are heavily dependent on their livestock.At the end of the satisfying feeling.Job security is good but the work culture is average as extra departmental work load is there.Basic work of TVO is treatment of animals but one has to monitor door to door vaccination work at rural level , do post mortem works,animal census works ,regular deworming and treatment camps apart from maintenance of proper data in different formats. Career growth is a distant dream as many veterinarians join and retire as TVO only.Also due to lack of manpower and vacant posts no body remains interested in getting a senior post as only name of post changes with added responsibility without any financial promotional gains. The organization of veterinary doctors is weak and it is only involved in personal gratification without a broader thinking for welfare of veterinarians working in the field.As a field veterinary doctor one can enjoy life in rural areas with fresh air ,food ,milk and pollution free life....Read More
