Barclays is a very good organization. In terms of compensation, job profile and salary.... However there are something has to be addressed regarding the management.

Dislikes

The leaders are used to use their positions and dominate the team members. They don't know how to behave, communicate and values of the employees. Instead of encouraging, advising and educating the new employees, managers are used to speak very harshly, rude behavior, shout at the employees like school or college environment feel like BPO industry not like a corporate bank there's no banking & corporate culture at all. These areas needs to be addressed. Barclays values are RISES - Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence, Stewardship. But i don't feel these are utilizing by the leaders. Team mates are really good. But my manager is not good because his behavior is terrible...

Initial pay is fine, but further salary growth is a challenge

Growth opportunities are poor, exceptional performance is not rewarded.

For the beginner itsgood to start with RBS but if one wants to make a career in bank then better move from here.

Salary is less , No cab now even meals also no.You have to pay for meal. No career growth people are in same position from more than decade. There should be change in middle and top management.
