Wonobo, part of Genesys Virtual World Limited (public listed), is a 3D mapping service. Wonobo's primary feature is the street view service which gives a map on the left side of the screen and street view on the right that the user can toggle between the full view of the map and the street view being zoomed. Users can also panoramically view the entire area and WoNoBO gives users a clear perspective of finding locations with details such as the name of the shop, the street etc. WoNoBo has placeholders to point towards businesses and different types of businesses like theaters, eateries, houses, chemist etc. as well as city guides, stories and walking tours. The service plans to cover 54 cities and 10 million points of interest have been tagged across cities and homepages have been created for them. Incubated with a $35 million grant from GENESYS. The company is in advanced talks with a few strategic and PE investors to raise $15 million in funding in Sep 2014 to scale their offering to 12 cities. Raised funding (reportedly $10M) from Quikr in October 2015.
