We, at Wellthy Therapeutics, design and deploy clinically validated behavioral interventions for chronic disease management, and are pioneering Digital Therapeutics, an entirely new category of medicine to address the chronic health epidemic in South Asia at scale. We recognize that gaps in chronic disease management are exacerbated due to the current paradigm of episodic care which is unable to provide continuous care and coaching to patients with chronic conditions. Moreover, low levels of health literacy which adversely affects patients’ ability to adopt a healthier lifestyle. As a result, patients find themselves grappling with the increasing cost of care brought about by the high risk of complications and hospitalizations. The high out-of-pocket expenditure on healthcare in India, makes chronic disease management unaffordable for a majority of the population. Similarly, the shortage of trained physicians, poor healthcare infrastructure and geographical constraints make care inaccessible. Powered by artificial intelligence, our disease management platform is specially designed to address these gaps. We play the role of an on-demand nutritionist, educator, fitness coach and counsellor, enabling patients to develop the skills they need to prevent, manage and even reverse their chronic conditions. We act as a digital pill for patients, and a data aggregator and decision support system for all stakeholders in the health-care ecosystem, including private and public health systems, physicians, insurers, pharmaceutical and medical technology companies and governments.
