STEC gets on the stick when it comes to memory. STEC specializes in memory products such as flash solid-state drives (SSDs) and dynamic random access memory (DRAM) modules that are used in high-performance storage systems and servers, embedded industrial, and other applications. STEC buys DRAMs and flash memory devices from Micron Technology, Samsung Electronics, and Toshiba, and enhances them with its proprietary firmware.
