NDDB chalks out big plan for Mother Dairy’s expansion through MPOs
- NDDB (National Dairy Development Board) has outlined a big plan for Mother Dairy's expansion through Milk Procurement Organizations (MPOs).
- NDDB aims to focus on the milk procurement strengths of the MPOs, allowing them to concentrate on their core competency while Mother Dairy takes care of marketing.
- NDDB has recently signed an MoU with the Odisha government to promote MPOs in non-represented districts and revive its Omfed brand in the state.
- Mother Dairy, as a subsidiary of NDDB, has committed to buying the entire quantity of milk procured by the MPOs, and plans to encourage them to set up their own processing units once they achieve financial stability.

- NDDB has tied up with an NGO to set up 10,000 biogas plants across 15 states in India.
- The goal of the program is to create climate-smart dairy villages and promote sustainable farming practices.

Purabi Dairy inks pact with NDDB, to double output to 3 LLPD
- Purabi Dairy, also known as the West Assam Milk Producers' Co-operative Union Ltd, has partnered with the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) to double its daily production to reach 3 lakh litres.
- The expansion project, valued at ₹100 crore, will increase the capacity of Purabi Dairy's Panjabari plant from 1.5 LLPD to 3 LLPD.
- Additionally, the project includes the increase of fermented milk product capacity from 20 metric tonnes per day (MTPD) to 50 MTPD and the establishment of a new ice cream plant with a capacity of 20 TLPD.
- The partnership aims to enhance the supply chain, offer better returns to dairy farmers through value-added products, and cater to the growing consumer demand for quality dairy products.
