Mid-day Infomedia

mid-day was established in Mumbai in 1979 as a family-owned newspaper. The Ansari family promoted Mid-Day Publications Private Limited with main object of printing and publishing of newspapers, magazines, books, journals etc. In May 2002, it was converted into a Public Limited Company. To reflect the diversification of its activities into other media field and the changing nature of business, the name of the Company was changed to Midday Multimedia Limited. The Company was engaged in multimedia activities such as to carry on the business as broadcasters, marketers or in any other manner of audio programs, to carry on the business of television programs, television films and television software, to carry on the business of Advertising Agents, to provide on-line and/or interactive information and news for business and general use, to deal in internet commerce and all internet related activity. Midday Multimedia Limited was running a Radio business through its Subsidiary M/s Radio Mid-Day West (India) Private Limited was one of the first private players to venture into this area and in a short time had established Radio One 94.3 FM as the premium FM Brand. With effect from July 1, 2008, the entire print and publishing business of Midday Multimedia Limited was transferred to its new wholly owned subsidiary called Midday Infomedia Limited. Further, pursuant to the Scheme of Arrangement between Midday Multimedia Limited, and Jagran Prakashan Limited and their respective shareholders and creditors, the entire print and publishing business of Midday Multimedia Limited along with all the related licences, trademarks and logos was transferred in the name of Jagran Prakashan Limited with effect from April 1, 2010. As such, now Midday Infomedia Limited, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Jagran Prakashan Limited , a publishing house listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange of India.
