Hindustan Powerprojects is an independent power producer with projects across the thermal, renewables, hydro, mining and engineering procurement & construction (EPC) businesses. Currently the group has a portfolio of 6,000 MW in projects under various stages, amounting to an asset size of $2 billion, and employs more than 800 associates across sites. India is the fourth largest consumer of energy in the world after USA, China and Russia but it is not replete with abundant energy resources. It must, therefore, meet its development needs by using all available resources. This understanding helped the Company to focus on renewable energy in short-mid-term, and conventional energy for mid-long term.
