They do provide job security that is without a doubt, but intern expect astronomical demands which are very hard to complete, there is plenty to learn as well.

There are no benefits really, many companies work towards creating a stress free environment which intern creates the maximum output towards any goal,but this environment pressurises their employees to a very high extent of burnout, in every company there is a work life balance which they make sure to maintain, but work taking over your life is not the solution. You cannot expect anybody to work the whole week for you extending their office hours and also providing excellent results in the end, it will not only burnout their minds but also create a nuisance for your company as well.
