North Korean Hacker Impersonates LinkedIn Recruiter, Executes ₹2,560 Crore Cryptocurrency Heist.
- A North Korean cybercrime group known as TraderTraitor executed a ₹2,560 crore cryptocurrency heist.
- The hackers impersonated a LinkedIn recruiter and tricked an employee at Ginco, a Japanese cryptocurrency wallet software company.
- The employee unknowingly compromised their credentials by copying a malicious Python script shared by the hacker.
- The stolen funds, valued at $308 million, were moved to wallets controlled by the hacker group.

North Korean hackers linked to hack of 4,500 bitcoins from Japanese crypto exchange
- North Korean hackers linked to the Lazarus hacking group have been identified as the culprits behind the theft of over 4,500 bitcoins from a Japanese crypto exchange.
- The hackers, known as TraderTraitor, used a LinkedIn phishing scheme to gain access to a Japanese cryptocurrency wallet software company and stole the bitcoins in May.
- The stolen bitcoins were transferred to wallets controlled by TraderTraitor, which traced back to the North Korean government.
- This is not the first time Lazarus has targeted cryptocurrency exchanges; they were previously linked to hacks on the Ronin Network and India-based WazirX.
