- Foundry USA Pool, the largest Bitcoin mining pool, returned an overpaid transaction fee of 8.18 BTC worth $777,000.
- The error occurred in December during the mining of block 875475, with a fee 91,127 times higher than required.
- Foundry refunded the excess fee after assessing the mistake and stated it didn't impact regular customer payouts.
