CEA-INES, Enel achieve 30.8% efficiency for tandem perovskite-silicon solar cell
- Researchers at France's National Solar Energy Institute (INES) and Enel Green Power claim to have achieved a power conversion efficiency of 30.8% for a tandem perovskite-silicon solar cell.
- The cell consists of a top perovskite absorber and a bottom heterojunction (HJT) structure, with an active area of 9 cm².
- This result surpasses their previous achievement of 29.8% efficiency for the same type of cell.
- Enel Green Power plans to offer even more efficient solar modules based on tandem silicon-perovskite cells, with efficiencies reaching around 30% by 2026.

Waaree Energies Bags Major Solar-Module Contract
- Waaree Energies has received a letter of award for a major solar-module contract with a capacity of 180 MWp.
- The modules will be supplied to a renowned customer engaged in owning, developing, and operating renewable power projects in India.
- Waaree Energies also plans to acquire Enel Green Power India Pvt. to strengthen its independent power producer business.
- In December, the company's board approved capital-expenditure commitments worth nearly Rs 3,500 crore across its electrolyser, lithium-ion battery, and inverter manufacturing businesses.
