Medicus App is the brainchild of Mr. Bhavesh Shah and Mr. Manav Shah which came into existence in February 2017. The idea behind Medicus came from a case in Abu region of Gujarat where one of the family member of a patient had to travel 100+ kms to get the prescribed medicine. After researching and discussing with thousands of doctors, a list of issues were made. We tried to find the root cause of these issues and discovered that there is no such platform where all the stakeholders of healthcare industry can come together to discuss and communicate with each other. Doctors also informed that they cannot reach pharma industries easily to discuss about the medicines and their feedback directly.Healthcare industry of India has been ranked 145th in the global list in terms of quality and accessibility of health which highlights how far the industry is when considering India has the 5th largest economy in the world. The major reason behind this is that a large portion of the rural population is still underprivileged as they are unable to acquire medical help for their needs due to a lack of availability of medicines and the cost of prescribed medicines in their areas.This is where the role of Medicus comes into play by connecting all the healthcare industry together including Doctors, Pharmaceutical Companies and NGOs on our platform to bridge the existing gap between the three parties and increase the availability and awareness of essential medicines in rural and urban areas. Many specialised, experienced and newly qualified doctors in our country especially in tier-2 and tier-3 cities do not have a platform to provide and share their knowledge due to lack of opportunities or enough support in terms of financial capabilities to deliver their expertise and knowledge.As our government’s biggest goal is to make India digitally advanced in terms of medical facilities, services and awareness, we aspire to create a chain of network between the healthcare sectors and try to improve these major issues which are affecting people on a whole.This was the reason to come up with a platform where all the stakeholders of healthcare industries, be it Doctors, Pharmaceutical Companies, NGOs, Doctor Associations, Government bodies, Hospitals etc can come together to discuss the cases and help each other for the betterment. It is every right of doctor to connect with pharmaceutical companies and vice-versa to discuss about their products and logistics.Since then, we are trying to make ourselves better with each passing second with the constant support of hardworking and self-motivated employees and supportive fraternity.
