Cipla Biotec (formerly mabpharm) develops monoclonal antibodies and peptide hormones for treatment of cancers, diabetes and Wet Age-Related Macular Degeneration. Its lead product CBT 124, a monoclonal antibody angiogenesis inhibitor which targets multiple cancers is currently under pre-clinical study. Its other products include CBT 125, a peptide hormone which got approval in India to treat diabetes; CBT 127 (mAb) for breast cancer in the development phase and CBT 128 (mAb) for Wet Age-Related Macular Degeneration in the pre-clinical study.  On July 17, 2014 Cipla's unit Meditab Specialities acquired Mabpharm and since then serving as a wholly subsidiary unit of Cipla.
