CATL partners with China’s Changan to boost battery swap business
- Chinese battery maker CATL has partnered with state-owned automaker Changan to establish battery swap facilities for ride-hailing fleets.
- CATL aims to create a network of 10,000 battery swap stations, with over 3,000 to be operational in the next three years.
- CATL's swappable batteries will power Changan's Oshan 520 sedan, offering a driving range of 500 kilometers on a single charge.
- CATL has also signed an agreement with Sinopec to build and operate battery swap facilities in Chongqing.
