Avantha Power & Infrastructure Limited (APIL), is an established power generation company. Armed with a rich heritage and legacy of nation building, APIL has embarked upon an ambitious plan of contributing towards meeting India’s growing power demand. APIL (including independent power plants, IPPs) have a total operational capacity of 626 MW. Another 660 MW of generating capacity is under implementation. The main energy sources are thermal and Gas power. APIL sells and continues to sell power generated from its operational projects through power purchase agreement (PPAs) of numerous durations. Additionally, the company also sells power on merchant basis. The corresponding coal procurement is tied up with SECL & MCL (Subsidiaries of Coal India Limited) against PPAs. APIL is a practitioner of Corporate Social Responsibility and is an environment -friendly agent in order to achieve its stated goal of sustainable operations. APIL also focuses on crucial sustainability objectives in the local community. These efforts are to ensure they are in line with global sustainable development trends. APIL has several welfare initiatives in the fields of Livelihood, Infrastructure Development, Community Health and Education benefiting communities in Raigarh and Seoni. The welfare programs are particularly focused on empowering less privileged communities and encourages self-reliance and empowerment.
