Apertio

Apertio promises to throw open the gates of subscriber data for communication service providers. Customers use its network infrastructure product suite, Apertio One, to integrate subscriber data across service and network elements. The company replaces proprietary, hardware-laden networks that often compartmentalize subscriber data with open-architecture software that provides scalability and supports current and next generation technologies. The suite consists of One-NDS (Network Directory Server), One-HLR, Home Location Register) and One-HSS (Home Subscriber Server). Apertio agreed to be acquired by Nokia Siemens Networks for more than $200 million at the beginning of 2008.
