A subsidiary of multiline insurer Nationwide Mutual, the company provides a variety of property/casualty insurance products including auto, farm, and homeowners policies. In addition ALLIED Group, also known as ALLIED Insurance, offers specialized commercial policies for small to midsized businesses, along with coverage for home-based businesses. The group includes such units as AMCO Insurance, Depositors Insurance, Nationwide Insurance Company of America, and Allied Property and Casualty Insurance, which work through about 4,000 independent agents, as well as a direct-response marketing staff, in more than 30 states in the central, southern, and western US.
