Job Description:
Role: Import Export Manager.
Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience in managing import/export operations, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector.
Location: Mumbai.
Notice Period: 15 days or less.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Development: Design and implement comprehensive import/export strategies that align with PIOMA's global business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Operations Management: Oversee end-to-end import/export operations, ensuring smooth coordination of customs clearance, documentation, transportation, and logistics.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods to meet global market demands.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to international trade regulations, including FDA, customs laws, export control regulations, and any region-specific trade agreements.
- Stay updated on changes in global trade regulations and ensure timely compliance across departments.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with internal teams-manufacturing, regulatory affairs, quality assurance, finance, and legal-to facilitate international business initiatives, product launches, and operational efficiency.
- Vendor & Partner Management: Establish and nurture relationships with key external stakeholders such as customs authorities, freight forwarders, carriers, and third-party logistics providers to streamline processes and minimize disruptions in international shipments.
- Documentation & Reporting: Manage and maintain accurate import/export documentation including shipping documents, certificates of origin, import/export licenses, and product registration.
- Prepare and oversee monthly reports, forecasts, and budgets to support financial planning and decision-making.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a high-performing import/export team, providing training and development to ensure efficient operations and alignment with company goals.
- Manage performance and provide guidance to optimize individual and team outputs.
- Continuous Improvement: Conduct periodic audits and assessments of current import/export processes to identify inefficiencies or areas for improvement.
- Implement corrective actions and process optimisations as needed.
- Crisis Management: Address any issues related to customs, shipping delays, or regulatory non-compliance, ensuring swift resolution to minimise operational disruptions.
Education:
Qualifications:.
- Educational Requirements: Masters degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.
- A Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and import/export compliance requirements, with experience in FDA and other regulatory bodies.
- Track Record: Proven success in managing multinational import/export operations, preferably within a fast-paced, regulated industry.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management experience, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and lead diverse teams to achieve business objectives.
Skills:.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage key relationships.
Proficient in MS Office, import/export management software, and ERP systems.
Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified Export Specialist (CES) certifications are a plus.
Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage
