Database Developer - SQL/Python (7-9 yrs)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Developer to join our growing team.

In this role, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance, security, and scalability of our database systems.

You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including database administration, performance tuning, and schema design.

Responsibilities :

- Install, configure, and maintain various database management systems (DBMS) according to best practices.

- Monitor database performance and identify opportunities for optimization.

- Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive data.

- Perform regular backups and recoveries to ensure data integrity and availability.

- Manage user accounts and access controls for the database.

- Apply database patches and updates to keep systems current and secure.

- Automate routine database administration tasks using scripting languages (e.g , Python, SQL).

- Work with developers and analysts to design and implement database schemas that meet business requirements.

- Normalize database structures to minimize redundancy and improve data integrity.

- Create and maintain database objects (tables, views, stored procedures, functions).

- Develop and implement database queries to extract and manipulate data efficiently.

- Document database design decisions and procedures for future reference.

- Identify and troubleshoot database performance bottlenecks.

- Implement database tuning techniques to improve query performance and overall system efficiency.

- Analyze database logs and statistics to identify areas for improvement.

- Stay up-to-date on the latest database optimization techniques.

- Participate in the database change management process.

- Implement database changes with minimal disruption to applications and users.

- Document and communicate database changes to stakeholders.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

- 7+ years of experience in database development and administration.

- Strong experience with a major relational database management system (e.g , Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).

- Experience with SQL query language and proficiency in writing complex queries.

- Experience with database performance tuning techniques.

- Experience with database security best practices.

- Experience with database scripting languages (e.g , Python, PL/SQL, T-SQL).

- Experience with database version control systems (e.g , Git).

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
