DevOps Engineer - Docker/Kubernetes (4-5 yrs)

About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Manager to lead and manage our DevOps team, overseeing the design, implementation, and optimization of our infrastructure and development pipelines.

As a DevOps Manager, you will be responsible for driving the automation of processes, improving collaboration between development and operations teams, and ensuring the seamless delivery of software across multiple environments.

You will work closely with engineering, IT, and product teams to ensure high availability, scalability, security, and performance of the systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, deep technical expertise, and a strategic mindset to drive improvements in both processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and manage a growing DevOps team, providing mentorship, guidance, and career development support.

- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture within the team.

- Oversee the design, deployment, and management of scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure.

- Ensure that infrastructure is optimized for performance, cost, and availability across all environments (development, staging, production).

- Develop and implement strategies for automating infrastructure provisioning, deployment pipelines, and configuration management.

- Drive the adoption and improvement of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices.

- Lead cloud infrastructure efforts using platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.

- Ensure cloud resources are optimized for performance, security, and cost.

- Continuously analyze existing processes and recommend improvements for better efficiency, automation, and collaboration between development, testing, and operations teams.

- Set up and maintain monitoring and alerting systems for all critical applications and infrastructure.

- Lead efforts in incident management, ensuring the team quickly addresses issues and minimizes downtime.

- Ensure the implementation of security best practices across the DevOps environment, including data protection, infrastructure security, and compliance with relevant industry standards.

- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, product, and IT, to ensure alignment between business goals and technical execution.

- Facilitate communication between teams to ensure smooth software delivery.

- Manage the DevOps budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions for infrastructure, tools, and services.

- Provide recommendations for optimizing resource usage to reduce costs while maintaining performance and scalability.

- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the DevOps team and infrastructure health.

- Provide regular reports to leadership on progress, system performance, and team productivity.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

- 5+ years of experience in DevOps or infrastructure management, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.

- Strong experience in cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, including expertise in provisioning, monitoring, and managing cloud-based resources.

- Expertise with tools like Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or similar tools for automating infrastructure and configuration management.

- Hands-on experience with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or similar to automate build, test, and deployment processes.

- Expertise in container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.

- Experience in managing containerized applications at scale.

- Strong programming and scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, Go, or Ruby to automate repetitive tasks and infrastructure management.

- Familiarity with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog, or similar for infrastructure and application monitoring.

- Knowledge of security tools and practices to ensure the security and compliance of systems and infrastructure.

- Proven ability to lead and manage a technical team, including setting goals, mentoring team members, and handling performance evaluations.

- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
